May 30, 2017 · In the last days, both Ars Technica and Hot Hardware managed to poste quite positive news about AmigaOne X5000 and A1222 Tabor nextgen PowerPC Amigas from A-EON. However! Things seems to be a bit too dramatic.

The PowerPC based AmigaOne A1222 will be for sale between €400 and €500. The AmigaOne A1222 is based on a Freescale QorIQ P1022 32-bit e500v2 dual-core PowerPC processor. It was a Micro A1-c supplied with a pre-release version of AmigaOS 4. I was totally amazed what this little machine could do but, coming from a Classic Amiga background where I used a range of big-box Amigas for video, DTP and graphics work, I quickly discovered that the new breed of Amiga One machines were sorely lacking in quality software applications.
